A vintage P-51 Mustang airplane crashes into the edge of the grandstands at the annual Reno air races, Sept. 16, in Reno, Nev. The World War II-era fighter plane flown by veteran Hollywood stunt pilot Jimmy Leeward plunged into spectators during the popular air show, creating a horrific scene strewn with smoking debris. Eleven people died.
